Green Home Loan Scotland arranges no-obligation surveys and quotes for paid installations of solar panels, battery storage and air source heat pumps. We do not fit the equipment ourselves — installation is carried out by our MCS-certified partner. Our role is to make the journey from first enquiry to clear, written quote as straightforward as possible for homeowners across Scotland.
Step 1 — Tell us about your home
You start by completing our short enquiry form or calling us on 0141 230 0198. We ask for your name, a UK phone number, your postcode and what you're interested in — solar panels, battery storage, an air source heat pump, or a combination. You can also tell us a little about your property, such as the type of roof or your current heating system. There is no cost to enquire and no obligation to proceed.
We'll usually respond during working hours to confirm your details and answer any initial questions you have. If you prefer, you can also reach us by WhatsApp or email at info@scottishenergyefficiency.co.uk.
Step 2 — No-obligation survey
If your enquiry looks suitable, we arrange a survey of your home. The survey is carried out to assess whether your property is suitable for your chosen upgrade. For solar panels, this includes looking at roof orientation, shading and available space. For an air source heat pump, it includes considering your current heating system, insulation and where a unit could be sited. For battery storage, the survey considers where a battery could be installed and how it would work with any existing or planned solar.
The survey is no-obligation. The aim is to give you accurate, property-specific information — not to pressure you into a decision.
Step 3 — A clear, written quote
After the survey you receive a written quote for a paid installation. The quote sets out what is included, the equipment proposed and the work to be carried out by our MCS-certified partner. Where finance is appropriate, interest-free credit options are explained clearly alongside the quote.
We do not publish prices on this website. Those details are provided in your quote because they depend on your home and your circumstances. We also do not quote savings figures, payback periods or statistics — we focus on what the installation involves and how interest-free credit can be arranged.
Step 4 — MCS-certified installation
If you decide to proceed and, where applicable, finance is arranged (subject to status), the installation is carried out by our MCS-certified partner. MCS certification is a recognised quality standard for renewable technologies. We install through MCS-certified partners, so you can be confident that the installation meets recognised industry standards.
What finance means in practice
Finance — where arranged — allows you to spread the cost of a paid installation over time rather than paying the full amount upfront. The exact terms depend on your circumstances and the installation quoted. Interest-free credit of up to £30,000 is available, subject to status and affordability. Terms and conditions apply.
What we need from you
For solar panels
- Your postcode and roughly which way your roof faces
- Any obvious shading (trees, chimneys, neighbouring buildings)
- Whether you have a suitable loft or location for an inverter
- Your current electricity use, if known
For an air source heat pump
- Your current heating system (gas, oil, electric, LPG)
- Roughly how well insulated your home is
- Outdoor space where a unit could be sited
- The size and type of your property

Frequently asked questions
Common questions about green home loans and how we arrange surveys and quotes for homeowners in Scotland.
Do I have to commit before the survey?
No. The survey and the quote are provided on a no-obligation basis. You only proceed if you choose to.
How long does the process take?
Timelines vary depending on your location, the upgrade and survey availability. We will give you an indication of timing when we arrange your survey.
Who carries out the installation?
Installation is carried out by our MCS-certified partner. We arrange the survey and quote; the installation itself is delivered by our partner.
Is finance guaranteed?
No. Interest-free credit up to £30,000 is available, subject to status. We do not publish specific amounts in advance — these are confirmed with your quote.
What information do you need from me?
We ask for your name, a UK phone number, your postcode and what you are interested in. You can also share details about your roof orientation, current heating system or electricity use, which helps us arrange a more useful survey.
Can I combine solar panels with a heat pump?
Yes, in many cases. A survey will assess whether your property is suitable for both. Combining solar panels with an air source heat pump can reduce your running costs by using self-generated electricity to power the heat pump.
